About Joanna Blair DO, M.Ost, (Dip.) SSMT MSMA, (Dip.) HSC

Why Am I Passionate About  Osteopathy?

I first became interested in rehabilitation after receiving treatment myself for numerous agonising sports related injuries whilst competing at international and national level. I tried various practitioners and therapists to help get back on track ASAP.  I found that my seasons were saved and my symptoms greatly resolved after visiting local osteopaths where I grew up in Warwickshire.
After participating in sport for nearly twenty years, I hope my experience and knowledge from my studies can be perceived useful to the local community.

I have a great interest in postural control, pathology, biomechanics and how the human body moves. I explain to patients what I see whilst assessing posture and gait and how this can affect the body's function.
My particular speciality for rehabilitation would be the sacroiliac joint, shoulder, neck pain and cranial osteopathy.
To get relief from acute or chronic pain or discomfort, get in touch with me today.

My Educational Background

I worked as a gym instructor and personal trainer whilst studying for two years on a physiotherapy degree course at Sheffield Hallam University. At the end of this time, in 2007, I obtained a diploma in health and social care. This course helped me to confirm my ambition to be an osteopath.

Whilst studying at the European School of Osteopaths (ESO), in Maidstone, Kent, I achieved a level 4 diploma in Sports Massage at the Southern School of Massage Therapy in 2008. I am registered with the Sports Massage Association and have worked as a sports masseuse ever since.

In 2012, I finally graduated as an Osteopath and gained an integrated Master’s Degree in Osteopathy (M.Ost). The ESO is a greatly-respected Osteopathic school throughout Europe and is particularly recognised for its teachings in cranial osteopathy and a large range of other classical osteopathic techniques. Undergraduates are taught the management of expected mothers and their babies in the maternity and children’s clinics.
Before starting my own practice, I worked in several other multidisciplinary clinics and found these experiences invaluable in setting up the Leagrave Therapy Clinic.
